My Journey as a YouTube Creator: From Weight Loss to Crafting, and Now The Joyful Rebellion

I’ve been on YouTube for several years, starting with a channel that initially focused on my weight loss journey, which later shifted to crafting. While I’ve loved creating content and sharing my personal experiences, the channel hasn’t fared as well as I had hoped. Despite implementing best practices, focusing on different niches, and exploring new strategies, the growth has been slower than expected, and my content didn’t seem to resonate with a broader audience.

The Struggles of Growing a YouTube Channel

When I first began, I was excited to share my journey, whether it was related to weight loss or crafting, but the algorithm can be tough, especially when you’re experimenting with content or evolving your channel’s focus. It’s easy to feel like you’re putting in so much work but not getting the traction you’d hoped for. I realized that while I loved both crafting and sharing my personal experiences, the channel wasn’t connecting with viewers in the way I envisioned.

Why I Started Thinking About The Joyful Rebellion

As I continued on this journey, I realized I wanted to create something more focused, with a message that speaks to the life I’m living now. That’s how The Joyful Rebellion came to be. I wanted to create a space for women over 45, like me, who are living non-traditional lives—whether that means being single, childless, or on a completely different path than society expects. I want to build a community where we can all thrive in midlife by embracing joy, creativity, and empowerment.

Don’t worry, though! My love for crafting hasn’t gone away. I’ll be incorporating it into The Joyful Rebellion because I believe that creative outlets are key to living a joyful and purposeful life.
